Kos island best beaches

Kos similar to Rhodes island has plenty of long sandy beaches but does not really have secured bays for anchoring. For this reason, most of the gulets enter Kos harbour, and from there you can reach Kos island best beaches or other fascinating spots.

Kos town beaches

Walking distance from the port is located Kos town beach; (about 500m, depends on where your gulet will be anchored).  Kos town beach is a sandy beach with sunbeds and umbrellas, and many beach bars, restaurants. You can choose a more quiet and relaxed place or loud music and activities like beach parties and water sports.

Psarovarka beach is located in Antimachou street about 400m from Kos town centre. Here you will find sunbeds and umbrellas free of charge. Tavern Psarovarka is serving fresh fish and Greek mezes (starters), but also snack and drinks on the beach. This place is ideal if you are looking for a typical local place with excellent service and good food.

Tarzan , Ali babba or Baltic beach are located further down. Those places are more crowded and touristic with music and snack bar serving drinks and food on the beach. Alibabba is famous for best burgers in town. Close by is located a water sports centre where you can experience jet ski or ringo.

Almost at the end of the town, you will find Mylos beach,  immersed in a well-kept garden.

This place is a beach bar where to swim, relax on the beach with umbrellas coffee and food. Sports enthusiasts have their space for beach volley, tennis, yoga classes and more.

Taking a local bus from Akti Miauli seaside street, you can reach in 10-15minites drive Ammos beach.  This place is famous for Sunday sunset beach parties. But also during daytime offer sunbeds and umbrellas, nice chill out music and snack bar serving drinks and snacks. With the local bus no.5, you can even reach Therma beach. It is famous for hot springs. Here you can experience swimming in hot thermal water.

Best beaches on Kos island

By car or scooter is 15 min drive to the long sandy beach in Tigaki. This holiday resort is popular because of his soft sandy beach and shallow waters. Here you can find several organised beaches and restaurant, but also a free beach where you can just put your towel wherever you want.

Kos island best beaches are located after Kos airport indicative 35km from Kos town. This part of Kos really worth a visit, but you will have to plan a whole day out.

Here you can enjoy the secluded bays, sandy beaches, beautiful views over Kastri island and excellent local food. Most famous Kos island beach is Paradise beach, but also nearby Lagada beach, Markos beach, Camel beach worth a visit.
